On many occasions throughout the 1-2 playthrough I felt deeply connected to the experience of the creator. God, this game messed me up bad. It tore though to my soul and ripped it out. The writing alone is worth the price of admission, Despite never knowing the writer personally, I felt very close to his experience. The writing at first is sardonic, darkly humorous, cynical and somewhat light-hearted. As it progresses, you see the dark humor for what it really is--a fake and thin veneer to salvage some level of self respect, before it gets torn away to expose the deep-seeded depression and self-hatred.This will only appeal to specific people who care about writing more than production values or deep gameplay mechanics. It's clearly using the vehicle of simple-input SNES era JRPGS to tell a deeply personal story. This hits home for me for quite a few reasons, but it is completely understandable why this would not be for everyone. Then again, unlike games like Dear-Esther, this has a beginning, middle, and end, it isn't bogged down by avant garde "ambiguity." The creator of this game was hurting like a son of a b itch, and I commend him for finding a way to touch others through this medium. 5$ for a well-written tragedy was more than reasonable for the way it made me feel. recommended. Portrait of a broken man. Expressive insight into the psyche of a depressed corporate worker that is relatable ,yet carries enough character to allow your own interpretation of this poor man's fall into demise. Would recommend, 7\/10.. I'm not sure whether I liked this game because of how painfully real it is and how it just bashes you in the gut over and over again. In fact, I'd caution folks sensitive about suicide and depression against playing it because it will trigger you.
